Rude Health has launched #Flip2Feed, a fundraising campaign asking people to flip pancakes to help us feed vulnerable children.

Like us, they believe no child should go hungry during the COVID-19 crisis. Sadly they are. 37% of children eligible for Free Schools Meals haven’t received any food or support yet, despite promises of food vouchers and parcel provisions from the government. That leaves 507,000 children missing out on the Free School Meals they need.

Chefs in Schools, who usually transform school food by pairing restaurant quality chefs with schools in areas with high need, are now working with school staff, chefs and volunteers to provide meals to vulnerable children who no longer have access to free school meals. Chefs in Schools is sending out the equivalent of 14,000 meals a week and expects to see that figure rise. #Flip2Feed will help them meet demand.

The campaign is simple.

  • Flip:Your pancake on social media using #Flip2Feed

  • Feed: Donate £5 to Chefs in Schools, which provides meals for 3 children.

  • Nominate: Five people to do the same

Why pancakes? Why flipping? You won’t need us to tell you that the world and our normal lives have been flipped on their heads. Pancakes have always been about making the most of what you have. Time to raise some money and have some fun whilst doing it.

Rude Health, who cycled a bum numbing 250 kilometers last year to raise money for Chefs in Schools, have pledged to match every donation until they hit £5K and they will donate a further £5K if they reach their final target of £100,000, the equivalent of 80,000 meals.

You can donate and find out more online.
