We’re backing Sustain’s call to #EndChildFoodPoverty – and hope you will too.

Sustain is looking for your support in calling for five policy commitments to protect children’s health and to increase access to nutritious food.

The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed major health inequalities across the country, with children and families suffering disproportionately.

The government now has a unique opportunity in the upcoming Spending Review to put forward policies that will ensure children can have the best start in life, regardless of background, including access to good food.

Sustain is calling for a commitment to:

1) Ring-fence the Sugar Levy to create a new healthy food fund

2) Expand & improve the School Fruit & Vegetable Scheme

3) Expand & increase value of Healthy Start Vouchers

4) Increase Free School Meal eligibility

5) Extend school holiday activity and food provision
