We welcome the recommendations laid out in the National Food Strategy, Part 2. If adopted by the Government, society will reap the benefits of improving the health and sustainability of the nation. The report recognises the need to invest upfront in the health and wellbeing of children, and the key role that food education plays in this.

Share Your Views on How to Improve School Food

School caterers, teachers and parents are being urged to share their views on what’s working and what needs to change in school food. People have until the 19th July to take part in a survey which aims to identify key areas for reform.

Fuel the future, join the school food work force

Following the release of our 2021 Chefs Survey which found:

  • 100% of chefs we support would recommend working in a school kitchen to a friend.

  • 96% feeling satisfied, or very satisfied, in their job.

  • 92% experiencing a shift in food culture within their school.

Pupils from the LEAP Federation have been busy creating meals at the Hackney School of Food that could be heading to your homes. The children spent the day with the team at Tastily – a meal delivery service- cooking up different dishes and recipes. The aim is to create a new dish for Tastily’s customers.
