Support for Schools &
MATs to Improve food
and Food Education

At Chefs in Schools, we believe every child should have access to fresh, nutritious, and delicious food—alongside an education that empowers them to make healthy choices for life.

We work with school leadership teams to support a whole-school approach to food. That means ensuring what’s served in the dining hall reflects your values and supports student wellbeing. Whether you’re looking to train your catering team, embed food education into the school day, or transform your approach to meals—we’re here to help.

There are three ways schools can get involved:

School Transformation: Our flagship programme is a year-long, tailored training and support offer for schools that are in-house or preparing to bring their catering in-house — providing the expertise, practical tools and hands-on guidance needed to build a confident kitchen team, strengthen compliance, improve menus and run a reliable, budget-aware and sustainable in-house service.

School Chef Training: This is a short and fully funded training course run across the country throughout the academic year. This hybrid (online and in-person) course is designed to upskill school kitchen teams. Designed for in-house and externally catered school kitchen teams.

Membership: Our membership offers professional development, support, kitchen exchanges and resources to a growing community of in-house catered schools and school chefs.
