OUR CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Naomi Duncan on Hopes for New Government

A new Government has been elected, with a new direction, and a host of MPs from all parties have been inducted into Parliament. The Prime Minister’s words upon his election struck a chord with our Chief Executive Naomi Duncan, who reflected:
“We are looking forward to working with this new government to ensure they can deliver better for children. We hope that this government stands by its words and takes their duty to protect and invest in young people seriously. We believe they need to make it their defining mission. At Chefs in Schools we know that we have no future without healthy, happy future generations, and that the superpower of school food has the potential to radically transform the lives of children regardless of age, location and household income. Over the next weeks and months, our charity will be doing what we’ve always done: proving that better is possible in school food and food education, and calling for the changes we believe are crucial to seeing our vision realised.”
We want to see school food standards enforced, mandatory training for school kitchen teams introduced, and access to fantastic school food widened so that children in need aren’t missing out. Read our new manifesto now.
