The Challenge

The school had already brought their catering in house, but was in need of guidance and support to get the provision to where it needed to be. Quality of food was low, the menu wasn’t inspiring and there was no whole school approach to food. But the school had a strong food vision and were passionate about making changes.

Our Support

We supported the school to recruit a head chef educator, and then provided a period of training for the whole kitchen team through the transition to the new ‘Chefs in Schools’ model.

The Result

Students enjoy wholesome dishes and actively engage in learning about where their food comes from through cooking and gardening classes. This whole school approach provides children with practical skills, fostering a lifelong understanding of and appreciation for, good food.
